I think what we have to speak (not heard the song for the year, but there is a proposal) is not a palm mute, but the overtones of sound in the rough. You want your left hand with a finger, that dominates the silence of that somewhere between the second and third frets. Keep it loose, I just want to touch the strings, no pressure on them. More distortion, harmonics stronger commitment.
